Our Clinical Liason and Mentorship Team

Heidi Petschke OTR/L

Clinical Liason and OT mentor

Heidi Petschke earned her degree in Occupational Therapy at Utica College in 1987 and has worked in pediatrics ever since. Her career path has included working in NY, WV and TN in addition to PA. She has worked with children and families in early intervention, public and private schools, outpatient clinics and pediatric home health settings. Heidi's greatest professional joy comes from facilitating skills so that children accomplish things they (or others) didn't think they could - and watching families glow with each new milestone they help their children master.

Heidi has specialized training in sensory integration, neurodevelopmental treatment, oral motor development and feeding. She holds certifications in D.I.R./Floortime, Interactive Metronome and Assistive Technology. Heidi has training in Masgutova Neurosensorimotor reflex integration, praxis and motor planning, visual and vestibular interventions and social/pragmatic language and social skill development. Above all, Heidi's approach to practice is driven by the definition of OT - to enhance an individual's engagement in the things they want and need to do in their daily lives.

Outside of work Heidi volunteers with Andrew's Gift and serves on the faculty for their "iPad Days". She enjoys exploring the outdoors with her husband and dogs - especially in the snow! Heidi has three grown children, two son-in-laws and one grandson and lives for the moments when the whole family can gather in one place!
